Daniyal Ahmad Assignment#2 How retail is transforming and what is intermediation?

Digital is really changing Nowadays retail operates as a result we need to have a unified model that connects to all of these different channels and allows the customer to buy what they want and how they want. Technology is also providing very exciting innovation as to how we can really touch consumers in a different way So we have to focus on really deep customer insights based off of data The retailers that are leading the pack are now having data systems and cloud presence to run machine learning on that data and to analyze the data in ways that help them predict what customers want. For example Amazon has changed the online shopping experience, but the brand is now intent on taking a slice of the physical retail pie too. The go store use a combination of computer vision deep learning, and sensor fusion technology to automate the payment and checkout process. This means that customers can enter the store, pick-up items, and leave without queuing or checking out, while payment is automatically made through the Amazon Go app.

Another example is MULTAN A robot waiter serves a pizza to customers at Pizza.com restaurant.

A pizzeria in Multan has suddenly become the focus of consumers attention, and not particularly because of their tastes. The reason behind is robotic waitress is wandering about the restaurant and serving food to the diners.

And the advantages are increased margins, increased inventory turnover, increased sales growth overall and being able to focus you cant invest everything,so you need to invest where it counts. And the other thing is going forward the stores will become just one channel, but its really a place to go to experience the brand. People want to go back to that personal experience, and technology is allowing that. virtual assistants and chatbots are providing that personal experience that’s says I am here for you I will help you through this journey.

The things I would learn about are what’s changed with retails in our lives. In a positive way we became more digitalize then ever before and sometimes more effective. This begins to challenge them what is the role of the store in retail we can now shop at 12 o’clock in the morning in our bed or in our couch from an online app, so the reason is that someone gets up now and leaves his home, and goes to the store is shifted. I think that driven a lot of the changed about what is the experience we need to deliver to customers now that a lot of the actual purchasing is beginning to move more and more into digital.

In order to become a successful business tycoon we should create service culture and need innovation to satisfy consumer needs. Many companies depend on technology mainly because the consumer mindset is changed rapidly. It’s not because of connected cellphone all the time. It’s because technology is change the perception of consumer to empower them, making them more informed to make them more connected, making them more demanding.

For instance Amazon has changing the online shopping experience for their customers, Now customers can enter the store, pick up things they need, and leave without checking out the bill, while payment is automatically generate on Amazon Go app.

Intermediation:

Inter-mediation happens when digital platforms entered between clients and a company itself.

Digital platforms is efficient in the process of selling products especially when marketing and promoting a product or service for the masses.

Brands should directly connected with their end user of a product and create value and meaningful relationships with their customer. They can use data to improved their products and offering according to needs and demands of their customers. They can extend their product scope outside the country, or around the world, and sells their goods more profitably. And they can do it without making major infrastructure investments or signing distribution contracts with local retailers.

Social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest have modify the way in which consumers and brands communicate. Low cost insight tools give companies a better understanding of consumers than ever before.

Example:

Digital stores ( Amazon.com or Alibaba Group )

Sharing hubs ( pinterest, youtube)

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
